What is the Problem?

Students are being introduced to technology in the classroom at a very early age, but they are not taught how to use if properly. Technology in the classroom tends to act as a distraction rather than a tool

Objective:

To design a digital learning device without the distraction of technology to help students, parents, and teacher track his or her progress

Actionable Insight

Distraction of Technology

Web-enabled devices, like smartphones and laptops, can lead users off-task in many settings. The classroom is no different. The distracting nature of these devices and the negative impact distractions and multitasking can have on attention and learning are widely known and accepted

Interactive Learning

Benefits:

-Increased understanding and retention

-Improve critical thinking and time management skills

-Builds confidence

Monitoring Progress

Many parents are under the impression that they shouldn’t have anything to do with their children’s homework. This comes from schools emphasizing that homework is a child’s responsibility, not the parents’. While it is absolutely true that parents should not do their children’s homework, there is a role for parents — one that’s perhaps best described as “homework project manager.” Parents can be monitoring, organizing, motivating, and praising the homework effort as it gets done.
